OVERVIEW:

Brad Roth and Mark Feldstein, self-proclaimed pop culture junkies, first crossed paths while posting at an edit facility in New York. Feldstein was cutting his short film “Karaoke Knight” for Showtime Networks while Roth was putting the finishing touches on a new brand campaign for the Travel Channel starring John O’Hurley of “Seinfeld” fame. The two found they shared more than an appreciation for pop culture and comedy; they saw the opportunity for a new kind of advertising agency – one that brings the production value and creative thinking of the commercial world to the network promotion business.

Launched in August 2000, Stun Creative is a Los Angeles-based advertising agency that specializes in on-air promotion for cable networks and syndication studios, co-founded by Feldstein and Roth together with veteran talk-show host Maury Povich. Stun’s current clients include: TV Land, Disney Studios, Travel Channel, NBC Universal, BBC America, Showtime Networks, Fine Living, Sci Fi, SOAPnet and 20th Television.

Stun’s entertainment-driven approach to advertising and promotion has garnered the industry’s top awards including the “Best Of Show” prize at the International Promax Convention for its TV Land rap video starring pop icons Mr. T and Tony Randall.

Although Stun has quickly grown into a full-service agency, it still maintains its boutique sensibility. Its largest asset is its incredibly creative and talented staff of writers, producers and editors – many of whom have been with the company since it opened its doors. In addition, Feldstein and Roth still take a personal approach to every client and every project. In fact, not much has changed since the days they shared a tiny office with their desks and computer screens facing each other. Today, they still prefer to write together using a single computer with two keyboards. It is collaboration in the truest sense of the word, as either can delete the other’s words at any given time.

Stun has recently expanded beyond traditional advertising, and has developed short films and television series. Currently, the agency is in production on 13 episodes of Radical Sabbatical for Fine Living Network. The show follows everyday people as they quit their job to pursue a dream.

Previously, Stun Creative executive produced “Inside Taken” on the Sci Fi Channel. An hour-long special, this stylized behind-the-scenes special for Steven Spielberg’s Emmy award-winning miniseries, “Taken.” Stun also produced “The Short List,” a highly rated hour-long series for the Travel Channel. Every episode presented a fast-paced look at the wildest things to do and see in cities across the United States.

In the world of short films, Stun’s Feldstein and Roth wrote, produced and directed the Showtime Networks comedy short, “The Swinger.” This three-minute mockumentary stars Chris Elliott, with cameos by Bob Costas and Maury Povich. The film screened at both the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado and the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.
